Welcome to the Art Department

We provide students with opportunities to demonstrate resilience, diligence, creativity and self-expression. 

We know that rigorous practice and deliberate skill building underpin the creative result. High quality teaching, the building of relationships and high expectations for ALL means the learners in our classrooms are focused, productive and inspired. 

There is a culture of ‘team’ where we learn from each other, harvesting skills and expertise for the good of the Faculty. We share examples of best practice, pedagogical research and exploration. We are not afraid to make mistakes or ask questions; we work together to assure the very best outcomes for our students. 

We work within a common framework using common systems and processes, as we understand that focusing on what unites us allows us to celebrate what makes our discrete subjects different. 

Extracurricular opportunities serve as not only inspiration or isolated experiences, but are regular and deliberate to support the learning in the classroom. They allow students to contribute to the wider community of the school and boost self-esteem and engagement.
