Parent Teacher Association

The Ashlawn School PTA attend school events and raise funds to go straight back into school to assist funding extra curricula events and clubs.  We are a small team who also independently organise our own events and are always looking for new likeminded members to join us on whatever basis you can to enable our school to continue to deliver a well-balanced experience for our children.

How do we generate funds?

We hold music and general knowledge quiz’s which are attended by the wider community and usually a great deal of fun can be had

We regularly hold uniform sales where preloved uniform donated to the school find new homes, this is an invaluable service to our community

We provide refreshments at school events such as musicals and open nights for prospective students

Where have the funds been spent?

 

In academic Year 2023- 2024 we provided funds for:

  • props, set & costumes for Scarefest
  • well being books for the Hub to build a mental health library
  • first aid course for Y12
  • KS3 & KS4 football shirts
  • books for SEN students
  • ipad music stand, backing tracks and portable all in one speaker
  • 6th form common room supplies
  • scripts, props & costume box for Drama & Theatre Studies
  • craft supplies for LDD
  • new chess sets for the chess club
  • apprenticeship fayre for sixth form but also Yr10 & 11
  • lights and green screen for media studies
  • 1x digital camera with accessories for Photography
  • 2 visualisers for demonstration purposes in STEM
  • growing and gardening enterprise project for the Inclusion Room
  • photobooth for leavers day Y11

Since 2014 we have given 25K back to school.. so well done to all involved

The extra-curricular groups massively enhance confidence and social skills which is reflected in all areas of day-today life.
